Richard S. Powell, M.D.
Dr. Powell was born and educated in Vermont. After completing medical school at the University of Vermont in 1979, he moved to Tampa for post-doctorate training at the University of South Florida College of Medicine. After a three-year residency in Internal Medicine, he completed a two-year Fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.
He is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine. Since 1987, Dr. Powell has had a longstanding and active sleep medicine practice. He helped develop the Brandon Regional Hospital Sleep Laboratory. An avid golfer, Dr. Powell enjoys travel for ongoing education in Pulmonary Disease, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine.
