Thomas P. Hooker, D.O.

Dr. Hooker is originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree at Villanova University in 1980 before studying medicine at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He earned his medical degree in 1984 and was honored with The William Goldman Scholarship for Academic Excellence. Before coming to Florida, he served a one-year rotating internship in Columbus, Ohio. He then completed a three-year residency in Internal Medicine at the University of South Florida and in 1988 was first Board Certified.

Dr. Hooker went on to further his education by completing a two-year fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine and was chosen for an additional year in training in Critical Care, also at the University of South Florida. During his advanced subspecialty training, he became particularly interested in the management of lung cancer and asthma. He is also Board Certified by the American Board of Pulmonary Disease, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. Dr. Hooker has been the treating physician in hundreds of sleep cases. He is also Board Certified by the American Board of Pulmonary Disease, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. Dr. Hooker’s interests include golf, tennis, running, music, and travel. His wife Charlotte, is a clinical psychologist in private practice, and they have three children.
